Know therefore that the LORD thy God, he is God, the faithful God, which keepeth covenant and mercy with them that love him and keep his commandments to a thousand generations\;
The simple believeth every word: but the prudent man looketh well to his going. A wise man feareth, and departeth from evil: but the fool rageth, and is confident.

Hello everyone!
Allow me to introduce myself before I get into the topic...
My name is Charles, and I'm one of the forum monitors. I attend Tioga Center Baptist Church, where I help out with the sound system / computer.
Okay, as you may know, this post may be a year or two late, but I'm sure you all know about the book / movie, The Davinci Code. The basic plot is this:
There's a secret code that is uncovered that tries to prove that Jesus was married and that he had a son and that he was not divine, and it'sjust plain garbage. So why am I posting a topic like this, you ask. Simple....the movie comes across as fact, there is no where stating it is fiction, depsite the fact that Dan Brown ( I think he's the author) says somewhere it's fictional. What concerns me is that some believers and many non-believers say we, the Christians and church leaders are over-reacting, and it's not bad. DON'T BUY THE LIE!
1. It downgrades Jesus Christ. Anything that downgrades Christ is wrong and is not worth our time. You say it's just fiction, but I can guarentee if someone made a movie about you and made up a bunch of garbage about you, you would be angry, right?
2. The Bible speaks on how married and unmarried people are to act. Notice I Corinthians 7:32 - 36 (or read the entire chapter to get it all in perspective). Now let's place Christ into those verses. Verse 32, "He that is unmarried careth for the things of the Lord and how he may please the Lord."
Now notice what 33 says....he who is married careth for the things of the world and how he may please his wife.
Now, if Jesus was married, how would have ascended into heaven and still had a family (Bible scholars say he was in his early 30s when he ascended into heaven). Would he not have wanted to stay on earth and please his wife and no ascend into heaven?
Since all Scripture is given by inspiration of God, we know that he did ascend and that the above verses are true and from God himself. God cannot contradict himself, and that right there completely destroys Dan Brown's theory, in which I think he had too much time on his hands.
There is a rebuttal book out that destroy's, point by point, every aspect of the Davinci code book / movie, but why attack every point when I did it in only 1 sweep
If you have feedback, I'd love to hear it.
Charles
